The Ohel of the Lubavitcher Rebbe is a very holy place where thousands of people come: for a blessing, spiritual inspiration, direction in life, etc.
The Jewish Russian Community Center of Queens makes groups trips to the Rebbe’s Ohel. The trips program is usually as follows:
•The bus picks up the group at the Chabad House (located at 62-38 99th St., Rego Park) and heads to the Ohel
•While in the bus, we try to give people a short insight at to what is a Rebbe, what is a function of the Rebbe, why is it important to go to the Rebbe and to go to the Ohel, etc.
•Once we arrive at the Ohel, the group gets together in the area where people can write a letter to the Rebbe, and people get a short explanation how to write to the Rebbe, some of the basic customs associated with going to the Ohel, how to conduct oneself at the Ohel, which prayers can be red at the Ohel, etc.
•People, then get 10-15 minutes to write a letter to the Rebbe
•The group goes together to the Ohel, where we typically spend about 10-15 minutes. Of course anybody can leave at any time or stay longer.
•We come out from the Ohel, wash our hand and get together for a special meal / gathering (farbrengen) where we again speak about the Rebbe, mention amazing miracles and stories which took place through the Rebbe’s blessings and as a result of going to the Ohel. And we of course say ‘lechaim’ that all our requests and wishes be granted and that we all be blessed for everything we want and need.
We return back to the Chabad House. We are feeling very much inspired, energized and confident and that wishes and requests will be granted and we will be bless with everything we want and need.
