Forget Punishment

Punishment for not obeying H' is there since the Gan Eden, Once we are out of there we are on our own with free will, and the punishment if any is in our conscience if we are literate enough to grasp what the Torah wants from us as in individuals and as a group. There is always Tshuvah as proper step for mistakes we have made. we trust H'. As for the comment about antisemitism mentioned below is a comment that I do not grasp as punishment how is tied with punishment ? Sorry, many bright and brilliant people support that stance of Antisemitism which has historical roots but that is independent of my behavior as Jew, If I trust H- even that makes me resilient. IMO any sin related pains we may feel are not punishments but rather, since G-d does everything, and we try to “do” things ourselves, we are like pedestrians jay-walking and getting hit by a vehiclef, it is our own fault, stimulated by our egoistic desires. For those who merely sink down into a egotistical stubbornness the constant stream of vehicles grows in size and speed. These “vehicles” may be disease of the body, lack of money in our budget, loss of status in our community, and on, covering any issue in our life. But G-d is merciful and “repairs” our life as we LEARN His ways and follow them. Reply

Contradictory to daily dose Kislev 3- do it yourself? I'm having trouble integrating today's daily dose with the previous daily dose- Do It Yourself. Do it yourself seems to imply tear yourself down first to save time instead of having His circumstances upon you. Today's daily dose seems to imply the opposite - that of Him coming to the rescue. Can you please help reconcile the message from these two days? Reply

It has nothing to do with punishment.
Some people are culturally more mentally restricted than others.
That's why latent Anti-Semitism exists.

If you want to legitimize the punishment of a Jew by Non-Jews than you are not better than Anti-Semites. Reply

Is it a logical thought that God will punish us? Rabbi Freeman, this DD send my thoughts to Rabbi Israel Baal Shem Tov's account of his childhood -"Yisrolik, fear nothing but G-d alone". We have the ability to sense when we commit wrongdoing and this is so because G-d who is inside us is making us notice His disapproval. Disapproval doesn't equal to punishment. Society punishes its citizens when they behave beyond its approved standards. Beloved Rabbi Israel Baal Shem Tov was a mystic who leave us with this thought that I copy below: When the truth of his wellsprings shall spread forth, without distortion, then the Age of Moshiach has arrived, may it be sooner than we all think. forget punishment (though it's a little difficult for me to believe that G-d doesn't dole out punishment sometime or other, for a serious wrongdoing), ...looking at and reading this "forget punishment" is so appropriate, SO positive and SO comforting, i love it!!! it brings to mind that if and when 'a bad thing happens', then later it becomes clear it was actually a blessing in the big picture reinforces! trusting G-d that He will fulfill our trust! ! Punishment has never been in the scheme of Things for me. It never will. Challenges in life are there and they do cause worry. Somehow I separate the worrying part of life, from my Trust life. Reply

This DD/Trust is probably the closest I come to thinking that there is a G-d, and i do plenty of thinking about It.

The mirror is a neat metaphor about earth and heaven. My Trust is not heavenward. I prefer to imagine that I walk humbly with Him here on earth, that He is near to me while Omnipresent. It's tied in with ISm, simple and worry free.
