DON'T FORGET TO WAKE ME FOR DINNER

The battle is out of tune
behind eyes heavy for sleep
There's a dream in here somewhere
of undecipherable winter ceremonies
and hidden miniature libraries

Don't forget to wake me for dinner

Your kosher delicacies
are a symphony
for my tastebuds
My tongue waltzes
with my teeth
for you mezonos, ha'adamah, and she-hakol

Mmmm, mmmm, mmm!  Is it time
for Birkas already?

And tomorrow?
Tomorrow I will thrive
on food my soul can wear
an edible garment
for my thought, speech and action
that attaches me
to HaShem's Will and wisdom
one aliyah, one shiur
one keppitel at a time
and gives me the strength
the shield and the armor
to perform His mitzvos
to help prepare the world
for Mashiach's arrival
